Subjects Taught
Third Grade Reading, Third Grade Science

I graduated with a B.S. degree from Tennessee Temple University in 1985.  I received my Masters Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1989.  I earned my Specialist Degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2007.

I taught at Brainerd Baptist Schools for 15 years before coming to West Side in 2000.  At Brainerd Baptist, I taught second and fourth grade.  At West Side, I've taught second and third grade and was a literacy coach for one year.  I oversee the Good News Club which meets every Wednesday from 2:35 to 3:45.  I've held other clubs after school which include a MovieMakers Club, a Writers Club, and an Exercise Club.

I have lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee all my life.  I have been married for 19 years to a wonderful man named Bill.  We have a precious four-legged "daughter" named Lolita who blesses our lives every day.  We enjoy playing bocce, disc golf, bowling, and going to Atlanta Braves games.  I enjoy playing the piano, but reading and writing are my passions.  I have written several poems and hope someday to become a published author.  This year is my 28th year to teach, and I feel very fortunate to spend so much time encouraging young children to love reading, drama, and poetry.  I enjoy leading the Good News Club on Wednesday afternoons with Mrs. Moravec and Mrs. Anderson.
